Het verhaal gaat als volgt. Emit Bloch, afkomstig uit Layton, Utah, brengt al jarenlang lofi-albums, of zeg gerust maar nofi-albums, uit. Onlangs nam hij aan de keukentafel een aantal demo&#8217;s op op een dictafoon (kosten: zes dollar) om platenmaatschappij One Little Indian te interesseren. Het label hapte toe en liet Bloch zijn demonummers opnemen in een studio met behulp van studiomuzikanten. Maar in plaats van <!--more-->deze opnamen brengt One Little Indian (Bertus-distributie) onder de naam <strong>Dictaphones Vol. 1<\/strong> doodleuk de krakkemikkige keukentafelopnamen uit. Bloch blert wat in de dictafoon en ramt wat op een akoestische gitaar.
