Harty dacht dat hij zou belanden in de bak of de hel. Maar niet heus, want de singer-songwriter straalt toch vooral vriendelijke degelijkheid uit op <strong>Holding On<\/strong> (eigen beheer). Het titelnummer is rustieke countryrock voor mannen in wollen poncho\u2019s. Daarbij zie ik iemand als\u00a0Dan Fogelberg opdoemen. Harty heeft een ietwat wollige stem waarbij op het titelnummer de noten van de mandoline warmte zoeken. De elektrische gitaar op <em>Round And Round<\/em> trekt <!--more-->naar het speelveld van Mark Knopfler. <em>Wired<\/em> krijgt een heel licht tikje rockabilly mee. In datzelfde stramien valt <em>Shiver In The Dark<\/em>, waarbij zijn manier van zingen vooral aan Chris Isaak doet denken. <em>Ballad For A Friend<\/em> is een krachtig liedje met slidegitaar.
