De band brengt al zo\u00b4n vijftien jaar het ene na het andere album uit met hemelse pop in de traditie van die andere Schotten, Teenage Fanclub. Al mist Dropkick zo hier en daar de ruwe randjes van de band van Norman Blake.\u00a0<strong>Balance The Light <\/strong>is album nummer veertien van de band.\u00a0Andrew en Roy Taylor (geen familie) vormen de kern van de band en dit zijn jongens die zijn opgevoed op een dieet van Big Star en de Posies.\u00a0Dat hoor je terug in puntige songs als<em> Out of Love Again<\/em>, <em>Homeward <\/em>en <em>I Wish I Knew<\/em>. Dit zijn <!--more-->stuk voor stuk songs die je al snel niet meer uit je hoofd kunt krijgen.\u00a0De vocalen zijn soms wat vlak, de melodie\u00ebn zijn zonder uitzondering ijzersterk.\u00a0Dropkick maakt bescheiden muziek. Muziek die niet om aandacht schreeuwt, maar er gewoon is in al zijn tijdloze kwaliteit.
