Raak. Courtney heeft het zelf in elk geval wel begrepen. Geen shitsongs op dit album. Nee, <em>Planning Escapes<\/em> is een voldragen opvolger van\u00a0het ook al niet misselijke <em>A Century Behind<\/em> (zie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.altcountry.nl\/blog\/2013\/09\/will-courtney\/\" target=\"_blank\">recensie<\/a>). Courtney combineert stemmige moderne countryrock met opzwepende gitaarpop. En vindt ook nog <!--more-->manieren om daar ergens tussenin te gaan zitten. Op het album tref je ook nog een cover aan van Damien Jurado (<em>The Killer<\/em>) en een nummer dat is opgedragen aan Dennis Wilson, de verdronken drummer van The Beach Boys die met <em>Pacific Ocean Blue<\/em> zo\u2019n prachtige soloplaat maakte (<em>The Pain<\/em>). Meest deprimerend en daarom misschien wel het mooist is <em>Most Of My Life: <\/em>Most of my life is been a waste \/ Most of my days planning escapes. En ook met prachtig gitaarspel. Daar zou ik om kunnen huilen. Will Courtney uit Austin kan dat.<\/p>\n<p><em>Planning Escapes<\/em> is zowel op\u00a0cd en\u00a0als download verkrijgbaar op de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.willcourtneymusic.com\/music-store\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a> van Will Courtney.
