Het is geen probleem voor die staande bas. De melodie doet wonderen; maakt je een beetje duizelig. Op een prettige manier. Het is prettig toeven in de <em>Hall Of Mirrors<\/em> van <a href=\"http:\/\/ultanconlon.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ultan Conlon<\/a>. De Ier bewijst met <strong>Last Days Of The Night Owl<\/strong> (DarkSideOut Records) andermaal dat hij een meester is in <em>The Fine Art Of Happiness<\/em>. Op dat slotnummer horen we hem \u2018cruel to be kind\u2019 zingen, en ja, de deunen zou je af en toe best mogen vergelijken met Nick Lowe. Conlon heeft het over \u2018fond memories of the worst time\u2019 en verpakt <!--more-->dat in zulke luchtige pop dat de emotionele achtbaan uitmondt in een pretritje. De triestheid glijdt de singer-songwriter van de schouders als een te ruim colbert. Hij zegt dat hij een beetje tijd nodig heeft om te treuren, maar zelfs op <em>Time To Mourn<\/em> blijft hij stralen. Single <em>The Measure<\/em> had zo op een album van Billy Swan kunnen staan. Vooral door die heerlijke piano. <em>Twice A Child<\/em> doet het met een streepje steelgitaar van Russ Pahl.
