De Engelse zangeres was ook al in Nederland om het album te promoten. Dat is goed nieuws want het genre countrysoul kan niet genoeg in de publiciteit gebracht worden. Allereerst: Yola is een ronduit fantastische zangeres. Maar, en het is niet leuk om te zeggen, dit album valt echt in het niet bij de magistrale platen die Yola (toen nog onder haar eigen naam Yolanda Quartey) begin dit decennium maakteals zangeres bij de band Phantom Limb. Daar viel alles op zijn plaats. En hier <!--more-->niet. Op\u00a0<em>Walk Through Fire <\/em>staan gewoon weinig echte goede nummers. Daar begint het al mee. Producer Dan Auerbach tuigt een en ander op met toeters en bellen, maar dat kan niet verhullen dat er weinig leven in de liedjes zit. Sterker nog, door die productie lijkt Auerbach vaak de lucht uit de liedjes te persen. De single <em>Faraway Look<\/em> is een hoop bombast in een orkestrale, jaren \u201860-productie. Beter geslaagd zijn het mooi beheerst gezongen <em>Lonely The Night <\/em>en het vingerknippende\u00a0<em>Still Gone<\/em>. Maar dat is echt te weinig om van een geslaagd album te spreken.
