Als Neil Bob Herd &amp; The Dirty Little Acoustic Band begeeft het gezelschap zich langs de uitspanningen van Londen en omgeving. Pubrock dus. Zoals wel vaker bij Engelse bands is er een lichte skatik te ontwaren in sommige nummers. <em>Bad Land<\/em> begint bijvoorbeeld ietwat Caribisch. Net als <em>Book Inside Them<\/em> zou je het een combinatie van roots en wereldmuziek kunnen <!--more-->noemen. Een beetje zoals Johnny G destijds. Behalve die naam komt bij een nummer als <em>As Much As I Need To<\/em> ook de naam van Geraint Watkins op. En dan kun je dus ook Nick Lowe noemen. Herd (zang, elektrische en akoestische gitaar, baritongitaar, steelgitaar) komt oorspronkelijk uit Schotland. <em>The Colour Of History<\/em> wordt voorzien van accordeon. Na die folksong denk je dat je een banjo hoort op <em>Leave Only Love (Old Dog)<\/em>, maar het is in werkelijkheid een telejo, een combinatie van Telecastergitaar en een banjo. Bespeeld door Paul Fitzgerald (ook dobro en gitaar). De melodie pakt de luisteraar op alsof Glen Campbell even terug is op aarde voor een laatste kunstje.
