Meer dan eens weten ze ons compleet te verrassen met platen die uit een ander tijdperk lijken te komen. Prachtige westcoastproducties of knappe altcountry, het lijkt wel of die bands uit Zweden, Noorwegen, Finland en Denemarken altijd alles goed doen. Hoe zit dat met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/loveondrugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Love On Drugs<\/a>? De bandnaam zit verstopt in de titel <strong>meLODies<\/strong> (Paraply Records\/Hemifr\u00e5n). De band van de Zweedse Thomas Pont\u00e9n begeeft zich op het snijvlak van pop en rock. <em>Let The Banner Wave<\/em> zou je bijna toeschrijven aan een band <!--more-->als Urge Overkill, maar dan wel wat gladder. <em>Standing On The Doorste<\/em>p rockt met een mandoline, terwijl <em>The Well<\/em> ontspringt aan slidegitaar en voorts funky voortrolt. Ted Russell Kamp bewaakt door zijn aanwezigheid het rootsgehalte. Het gaat van lekkere sixties naar Squeeze en Sundays.
