De Canadese met de ruige strot kan het nog steeds, zo maakt ze direct duidelijk met het hard rockende <em>Still Alive And Well<\/em> waarmee <strong>Bitches Blues<\/strong> (Stony Plain Records) opent. Drie eigen nummers en vijf covers heeft ze in petto. Vroeg Janis Joplin om een <em>Mercedes Benz<\/em>, Jordan wil een <em>Chevrolet<\/em>, een liedje uit 1959 overigens. Jordan kroop zo\u2019n 20 jaar geleden in de huid van Joplin tijdens een musical; ze had (en <!--more-->heeft) er de stem voor. Bijzonder is de sitar aan het begin van\u00a0<em>Change Is Coming<\/em>, een van de eigen liedjes. Fijn is ook de cover <em>Sailin Shoes<\/em> van Little Feat. Met <em>Chevrolet<\/em> en het door Fred McDowell geschreven <em>You Gotta Move<\/em>, maar ook met de eigen compositie <em>Still The World Goes Round<\/em> ligt de nadruk van dit album vooral op de countryblues uit Mississippi.
