Op het hoesje van <strong>Phantom Threshold<\/strong> (Black Hen Music) wordt ook de begeleidingsband genoemd: Steve Dawson &amp; The Telescope 3. De Canadees nam in 2008 ook al eens een instrumentaal album op met een hoofdrol voor de steelgitaar. Dat was getiteld <em>Telescope<\/em>. Met grotendeels dezelfde musici, vandaar de bandnaam. Jay Bellerose (drums), Chris Estrin (toetsen) en Jeremy Holmes (bas) waren er toen ook al bij. Het album begint met <em>Cozy Corner<\/em>, waarop ook nog gastmuzikant Daniel Lapp (violen) present is. Ook <!--more-->Fats Kaplin (banjo, fiddle, accordeon) maakt enkele keren zijn opwachting. Burnt End is een solostuk met pedal steel. Ook op afsluiter <em>Whirlwind<\/em> krijgt Dawson geen steun, op dit nummer speelt hij een aangepaste Weissenborn.
