Het viel me op bij beluistering van <\/span><strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Weathervanes. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">(Southeastern).<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Normaal gesproken ben ik onder de indruk van de nummers van <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Isbell<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">. Maar bij dit nieuwe album van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jasonisbell.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jason Isbell &amp; the 400 Unit<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">veer ik maar heel soms op uit mijn stoel. Bij het openingsnummer <\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Death<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Wish<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">, een aangrijpende song over hoe het is om <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">met een depressieve geliefde te zijn en bij de twee rockers <em>Save The World<\/em> en in het bijzonder <\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">When<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\"> We <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Were<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\"><em> Close<\/em>. Dat laatste nummer<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\"> is een heerlijke stamper die uitnodigt om de volumeknop<!--more--> naar rechts te draaien. Dat orgel en die gitaar solo! <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">En vooruit, <em>King Of Oklahoma<\/em>, over de <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">opio<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">\u00ef<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW237014344 BCX8\">dencrisis<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\"> die de VS treft, is ook wel prima. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Maar daarna is de koek eige<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">nlijk op. Niet dat de songs slecht zijn, zeker niet. Maar geen echte vonk die overspringt in de laatste vij<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">f nummers van de plaat. Nog wel mooie momenten maar het do\u00e9t weinig met me. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">Zijn het die Keltische invloeden, met best veel str<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">ijkers en af en toe een accordeon,<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\"> die me niet beroeren<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW237014344 BCX8\">? Of is het nu toch echt allemaal te gladjes geworden.
