Het heeft hem blijkbaar gevormd, want op <strong>Autumn Never Knows<\/strong> (eigen beheer) reist de Amerikaan uit de staat Iowa nog steeds. \u2018Woke up in Chicago, thought it was LA \/ All these damn hotel rooms look the same \/ I\u2019m just tryin\u2019 to put some distance \u2018tween the problem \/ and the next place\u2019, zingt hij op <em>Postcards From The Sea<\/em>. \u2018Where the highway meets the sky, that\u2019s where we all go by and by, and free like the wind we begin again\u2019, klinkt het op <em>Where The Highway Meets The Sky<\/em>. Partridge was eerder frontman van King Of The Tramps van <!--more-->wie we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altcountry.nl\/blog\/2015\/03\/king-of-the-tramps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Joyful Noise<\/em><\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altcountry.nl\/blog\/2016\/08\/king-of-the-tramps-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Cumplir Con El Diablo<\/em><\/a> bespraken. Zijn stem vergeleken we al eens met Graham Parker. Zijn zang is beslist een van de sterke punten. Die ietwat schorre stembanden voegen als vanzelf wat countrysoul toe aan zijn americana, vooral op <em>Sioux Falls<\/em>. Er wordt dus gereisd op die liedjes en onderweg gebeurt er voldoende voor interessante verhaallijnen. Partridge ontmoet mensen zoals de door haar man verlaten <em>Lucy Brown<\/em>. En hij vraagt zich op <em>Junk Train<\/em> af hoe lang hij nog door kan gaan met deze manier van leven: \u2018I got a boxcar full of broken dreams \/ And my engine always runnin\u2019 out of steam.\u2019 Het is een reis van <em>Blessing<\/em> naar <em>Sorrow<\/em>. Naast Partridge (zang, elektrische en akoestische gitaren, mandoline) bestaat het team op <em>Autumn Never Knows<\/em> uit Bryan Vanderpool (drums, percussie, gitaar, banjo, zang), Jay Foote (bas), Kathry Severing Fox (viool) en Sarah Vanderpool (toetsen, zang).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Op zijn twaalfde was Todd Partridge al twaalf keer verhuisd.
