Natuurlijk, de verrassing is er af, want de nummers op dit nieuwe album liggen in het verlengde van die op de eersteling. Maar <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">de kwaliteit is gebleven.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> In de 10 nummers verkennen de mannen, wederom onder <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">productionele<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> leiding van Pablo Van der Poel (ook <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">DeWol<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">), het <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">we<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">st<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">coast<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">landschap<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> van de folkrock<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">, dat af en toe lekker rafelige randjes kent. Door de <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">(meerstemmige) <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">zang<!--more--> <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">klinkt het allemaal best<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">liefelijk en zelfs <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">optimistisch. In <em>Baby Jean<\/em> roept het zelfs <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">herinneringen<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> op aan America (de band). Maar in de teksten kunnen de mannen venijnig uit de hoek kom<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">en. Zo hoor je in <em>Post-Punk<\/em> de regels<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">: I <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">hate<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">your<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> post-punk <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">pretensions<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">\/ <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">your<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> fake English accent\/ <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">Maybe<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">I\u2019m<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">jealous<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">\/I <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW104446900 BCX8\">don\u2019t<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\"> get attention. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW104446900 BCX8\">En de gitaarsolo&#8217;s die sommige nummers opsieren, zijn evenmin voor de poes.
