Want Chris King heeft een dubbeltalent; mu<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">zikant en ontwerper\/graficus\/beeldend kunstenaar. Door die laatste naam denk je missc<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">hien dat King <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">met KJRK <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">een traditioneel klinkend album heeft gemaakt, maar dat is totaal niet het geval<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">. Dit is donkere <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">en soms experimentele <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">altcountry<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> die in het verlengde ligt van het werk van Matthew <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">Logan Vasquez, MJ <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">Lenderman<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> en Will Johnson<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">Zoals <\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">Paramount<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> dat begint met een drumcomputer, maar <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">na een tiental seconden overgaat is een <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">stuw<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">ende song met <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">vervormde gitaarpartijen, dreigende pianoklanken en een geleend <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">c<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">itaat uit een oude countrysong van Johnny <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">Gimble<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> (<em>Under The X <\/em><\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">From<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> Texas<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"><em>Red Texas Chili<\/em> lijkt<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> daarna<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> een redelijk gewoon nummer over een <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">Texaans<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> gerecht<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\">, maar heeft dan weer een uiterst vreemd einde waarin vervormde <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">fiel<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">d<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW150360386 BCX8\">recordings<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW150360386 BCX8\"> een rol spelen.
