Nieuw<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">gierig geworden zwengelde ik het recent verschenen debuut<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">, <strong>Save It For Later<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> (<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Unday<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> Records)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">,<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> van de dames<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> aan. Ja, het zijn dames, uit Belgi<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">\u00eb. Catherine Smet<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> (gitaar)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">, Mo Gova<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">erts<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> (drums)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> en Caitlin <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Talbut<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> (bas) <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">wonnen al <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Humo&#8217;s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> Rock <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Ralley<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">, een belangrijke Belgische popprijs. Voor dit album <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">riepen ze de hulp in van producer Willem <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Ardui<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> Die zorgde<!--more--> er<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">ook voor dat de <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">indiefolk<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">liedjes<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> op deze plaat nog <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">op aangename wijze<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">\u00a0aangekleed werden met banjo en lapsteel. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">En zo ligt er nu een album met liedjes van internationale allure<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Het album opent echt heerlijk met <em>My <\/em><\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Kinda<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Woman<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">, waarin het drummen van Govaerts de aandacht <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">trekt<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">, maar het is misschien wel het bescheiden banjoloopje dat de echte winner van dit nummer is. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">De samenzang op <\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5316526 BCX8\">Ceiling<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"><em> Stars<\/em> is om door een ringetje te halen. Wat <em>Save It For Later<\/em> in zijn geheel bijzonder aantrekkelijk maakt is het bijna hypnotisch<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">e karakter van de songs. Je wordt er keer op keer ingetrokken. Het is die combinatie van heerlijke <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">melodie\u00ebn die niet voor de hand liggen maar wel toegankelijk zijn<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\">, mooie zang en<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5316526 BCX8\"> de bijzondere klankkleur. Gevarieerd en toch samenhangend.
