Flores is geboren, getogen en nog steeds woonachtig in een klein plaatsje in Oklahoma, een eind bij de snelweg vandaan. Die achtergrond klinkt door in zijn liedjes. Neem meteen al de titelsong: \u2018Watch old sedans and semis \/ And wonder where they\u2019re going and where they\u2019ve been\u2019 \u2013 zonder meteen de neiging te hebben ook die kant op te gaan. De praktische nuchterheid van het platteland <!--more-->horen we ook terug in <em>When I Die<\/em>: \u2018Cut me in half \/ \u2019Cause funerals cost a lot \/ Let my family split the bill and put me in a to-go box\u2019. Nog een lofzang op het leven in de provincie is <em>Little Town<\/em>. Ideaal is het misschien niet, en de buurman mag dan een verzameling kapotte auto\u2019s in zijn tuin hebben: \u2018that don\u2019t make no difference when the sunset paints the sky\u2019. De meeste liedjes komen in een aanstekelijk midtempo, terwijl songs als <em>Habits, The Truth<\/em> en <em>Stillwater <\/em>het voor de afwisseling zoeken in een wat kalmer ritme. Misschien moeten we niet te vroeg juichen, maar Wyatt Flores doet op sommige momenten waarachtig denken aan die andere attractie uit Oklahoma, Turnpike Troubadours.
