Zo voelt het in elk geval wel, want de <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Texaan<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> brengt in recordtempo nieuw werk op de markt<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">. Ditmaal voor het eerst via een grote platenmaatschappij: <\/span><strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Lonesome<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"><strong> Drifter<\/strong> verschijn bij Island records. Ze stonden voor <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Crockett<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> in de rij maar hij koo<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">s voor deze platenmij omdat ze hem vrij zouden laten in de wijze hoe hij zijn muziek zou opnemen. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">En inderdaad, ook op deze nieuwe plaat klinkt <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Crockett<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> zoals hij al een tijdje klinkt. Er is niks veranderd.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">En<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">misschien is dat wel een beetje jammer, want <!--more-->\u2013ook gelet op <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">zijn <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">hoge<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">output (een nog te verschijnen album is ook alweer opgenomen<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">!)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> begint wel het beeld te on<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">t<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">staan dat hij zich wat aan het herhalen <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">is.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Toch staan er ook weer een paar pareltjes op <\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Lonesome<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"><em> Drifter<\/em>. Ik noem allereer<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">t <em>Easy\u00a0Money<\/em> dat<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> zo op de <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">oundtrack van <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Midnight<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> Cowboy had kunnen staan<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">. Het thema makkelijk geld komt ook terug in <em>Never No More<\/em>, maar daarin heeft de hoofdpersoon gelukkig een vrouw gevonden die voor hem zorgt.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"><em> Crazy Life<\/em> is ook prachtig en doet denken, misschien wel door die strijkers, aan Willie Nelson. Gelukkig gaat het vervolgens in <em>Bill <\/em><\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Bailey<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> niet over de Engelse komiek, want <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Crockett<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> bezingt de doo<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">d<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> van deze andere Bill <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Bailey<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"><em>Jamestown Ferry<\/em> en <\/span><em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Amarillo<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">By<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">Morning<\/span><\/em><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\"> zijn covers. De eerste is <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW109693509 BCX8\">okee<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">, maar de tweede voegt werkelijk niets toe. En er staan<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW109693509 BCX8\">, helaas ook wel meer songs die in de laatste categorie vallen op dit album.
