BQE staat voor Brooklyn Queens Expressway, de snelweg die de stadsdelen Brooklyn en Queens verbindt. Lurrie liep er vaak onderdoor op weg naar de studio. Ze groeide op in beide stadsdelen, maar met man en kind verhuisde ze recent naar Burlington in de noordelijker gelegen staat Vermont. Ze was er klaar voor, ook al zal ze \u2018take out after midnight\u2019 moeten missen. Maar ze zal vast en <!--more-->zeker die snelweg naar New York nog vaak nemen, al was het maar om er wat optredens te doen. Honky tonk is er de laatste jaren namelijk aan een opmars bezig. De alternatieve country van Lurrie is nogal lofi en klinkt daardoor ouderwets en modern tegelijk. \u2018Working every day steady for a wage \/ City\u2019s freedom in a cage, everybody\u2019s waiting to be saved\u2019, zingt ze op <em>City Quarantine Blues<\/em>. Het liedje <em>Townes<\/em> gaat over mensen die moeite hebben om ergens te aarden.
