Te ambitieus en overstrekt voor deze tijd van soundbites en singles? De <a href=\"https:\/\/stillhousejunkies.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stillhouse Junkies<\/a>, bluegrasstrio uit Colorado, hebben er geen boodschap aan en wijden <strong>The Ballad Of Charlie Avalon <\/strong>(Common Loon Records), hun vierde album sinds 2017, volledig aan het onzekere bestaan als rondtrekkend muzikant, gemodelleerd naar het leven van de grote countryblues-gitarist Mississippi John Hurt (afkomstig uit Avalon, Mississippi \u2013 vandaar). We volgen hem op zijn moeizame kruisweg vanuit het diepe zuiden naar de zakelijke, industri\u00eble <!--more-->muziekmetropool New York, waar hij worstelt met de harde, commerci\u00eble cultuur waarin hij verloren raakt. De <em>Stillhouse Junkies<\/em> zijn Fred Kosak, gitaar en mandoline, Alissa Wolf, fiddle, en Jeanette Adams, bas. Hun thuisbasis is bluegrass, vanwaar ze vrijmoedig uitstapjes maken naar folk, blues, rock en western swing. Alle liedjes zijn geschreven door Kosak. Ze worden losjes en summier aan elkaar gepraat door Sam Bush, begeleid door de banjo van producer Joe Newberry.
