Tegenstellingen. Met dat gegeven gaat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.estherrose.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Esther Rose<\/a> aan de haal op <strong>Want<\/strong> (New West Records). Op het titelnummer noemt ze op wat ze allemaal wel niet wil. Eigenlijk zijn het helemaal niet zulke grote wensen. En bijna altijd zijn er wel kleine keerzijden. Maar dat geeft niets, want dat is \u2018living real life\u2019. Ze wil liefde op <em>Tailspin<\/em> en drank op <em>Had To<\/em>. Duizelend en tollend houdt ze zich staande, terwijl John James Tourville op steelgitaar een vangnet vormt voor als het echt mis gaat. <em>Ketamine<\/em> heeft wel wat van Smashing Pumpkins. In haar liedjes gooit de singer-songwriter uit Santa Fe, New Mexico, veel <!--more-->op tafel. Alsof ze schoon schip wil maken. Of in ieder geval zelf begrijpen wat er allemaal speelt in haar leven. Ze doet dat niet meer met een traditioneel countrygeluid; producer Ross Farbe laat haar liedjes uitkomen met arrangementen die de soms pijnlijke materie extra aanzetten middels vervormde geluidsmuren. Ze gaat samenwerkingen aan met singer-songwriter Dean Johnson op het duet <em>Scars<\/em> en rockband Video Age (op <em>Tailspin<\/em>).
