Vroeger noemden we dat gewoon alt-country\u2026 De band uit Virginia is hier op deze site dus op zijn plaats. En <strong>The Day The Bloodroot Bloomed<\/strong> (eigen beheer) zou vast meer reuring veroorzaken als er niet zo ontzettend veel nieuwe muziek zou verschijnen. Dit is het derde album van het gezelschap rond songschrijver\/zanger Jacob Ritter. Hij speelt ook gitaar (meestal akoestisch, maar soms ook elektrisch) en op het rockende <em>Broken Doors<\/em> is hij ook verantwoordelijk voor <!--more-->een stukje scheurende mondharmonica. Zijn liedjes handelen over het passeren van de tijd en de veranderingen die we meemaken. Hij richt zich vooral op de sores van de arbeidersklasse. Kortom, het gewone leven. Waarin je droomt van <em>Just Another Morning<\/em> die nooit zal ophouden met je geliefde die is verdwenen. Op <em>Forgiven<\/em> deelt Ritter mee dat hij bang is voor de liefde te kiezen, waarbij piano en orgel zijn twijfels niet weten weg te nemen. Op het trage <em>Queen Of Brooklyn<\/em> neemt Lizzie Cahalin het even over als leadzangeres. <em>50\/50<\/em> biedt wat rockabilly en op <em>Butt End Of The Bread<\/em> is het een kwestie van overleven op brood en bonen.
