Voorlopig moet hij het doen met 74 luisteraars per maand op Spotify. Toch is <strong>Qualified Country Gold<\/strong> (eigen beheer) van de singer-songwriter uit Knoxville, Tennessee, beslist de moeite waard voor liefhebbers van authentieke rootsmuziek. Fox was op jonge leeftijd al in de ban van Woody Guthrie en speelde veelvuldig op straat met een stel vrienden in zijn woonplaats. Op dit album speelt hij bijna alle instrumenten zelf. Banjo, gitaar, steelgitaar, viool \u2026 noem maar op. Bij Boy Named Banjo \u2013 de band die tegenwoordig Breakfield heet en die <!--more-->onlangs met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altcountry.nl\/blog\/2026\/06\/breakfield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deze recensie<\/a> ook al op deze site stond \u2013 speelde hij veelvuldig pedal steel viool en gitaar tijdens concerten. Naast zijn solowerk is hij ook nu nog regelmatig actief voor andere acts. Bovendien is hij beeldend kunstenaar. Op zijn site zijn schilderijen, tekeningen en linosnedes te bewonderen. Liedjes als <em>Blue<\/em>, waarin hij zich afvraagt hoe hij zich ooit zo ongelukkig kon voelen voordat hij haar in de ogen had gekeken, zijn weliswaar niet buitengewoon origineel, maar zijn in traditie gewortelde sound is hoe dan ook authentiek.
