En nee, dit is geen slap eerbetoon aan Elvis Presley, maar rock-&#8216;n-roll van de straat uit New York. In de jaren tachtig maakten deze mannen al platen. Scott Kempner, gitarist in de legendarische punkband Dictators, richtte de band op. Met Eric Ambel, voorheen gitarist bij Joan Jett, had de band twee frontmannen. Nadat The Del-Lords er in 1990 de brui aan gaven, bleef Ambel actief als producer van vele altcountryplaten en was hij<!--more--> leadgitarist bij Steve Earle. Maar nu zijn The Del-Lords dus terug. Ambel produceerde zelf deze plaat vol scherpe rootsrock. Bas, drums, twee gitaren, vier zangers. De bandleden begonnen weer samen te spelen onder het pseudoniem Elvis Club. Vandaar de cd-titel. Die optredens vonden plaats in de Lakeside Lounge, een bar in New York die eigendom was van Ambel. Daar stond de best gesorteerde jukebox van de hele stad, totdat de kroeg vorig jaar dicht ging.
